How A LifeGuardian Home Medical Alarm System Works
A LifeGuardian™ Medical Alarm System is a wireless electronic device designed to enable anyone to summon personal help whenever you need it.
If you are - have a family member - who lives alone or has medical conditions (Who Is At Risk), you may help protect yourself with a LifeGuardian™ Medical Alarm System.
Those that can especially benefit are folks over age 70, that have fallen recently, had recent hospital stays, known medical conditions, or who live (or can be left) alone where calling for emergency help or assistance may not be easy.
The LifeGuardian™ Medical Alarm System has three components: a small radio transmitter (a Personal Help Button carried or worn by the user); a console connected to the user's telephone; and an emergency response center that monitors calls.
If emergency help (medical, fire, or police) is needed, the LifeGuardian™ Medical Alarms System user simply presses their Personal Help Button. It sends a radio signal to the console.
The LifeGuardian™ Medical Alarm System is programmed to telephone your emergency response Security Center where the caller is identified.
All information about the subscriber (name, address, medical conditions, allergies, hide-a-key location, etc.) immediately appears on the computer screen of your emergency dispatcher.
The Security Center will try to determine the nature of the emergency. Security Center staff also may review your medical history and check to see who should be notified.
If the Security Center cannot contact you or determine whether an emergency exists, it will alert your local emergency service providers (paramedics) to go to your home.
Best of all, your Security Center emergency dispatcher will stay on the intercom with you and will continuously monitor the situation until the problem or emergency crisis is resolved.

Wireless, Waterproof Long-Range Personal Help Buttons
The LifeGuardian™ Medical Alarm System features a Personal Help Button that is light-weight and waterproof. Your Personal Help Button is activated by pressing one button that is conveniently worn on a chain around the neck, on a wrist band or clipped to a belt or in a pocket.
Your Personal Help Button is battery-powered and can last up to four years before replacement.
The LifeGuardian™ Medical Alarm System console acts as an automatic dialing machine and sends the emergency alert through the phone lines. It works with any private telephone line and generally does not require any re-wiring.
The LifeGuardian™ Medical Alarm System console also provides you with some very valuable accessories - at no extra cost. First, we include an emergency back-up battery to provide you to hours of continued protection in the event of a local power failure.
We also install the optional 2-way voice board - enabling emergency operators to attempt to establish 2 way voice contact with the subscriber. An added security and safety feature only available from top quality equipment manufacturers.

Your LifeGuardian Care Center Is Standing By 24/7!
In the event of a personal emergency, the LifeGuardian™ Medical Alarm System subscriber simply presses the "Emergency" on the console - or the wireless personal Help Call Button worn on their person.
It triggers the base console to immediately begin to announce "Emergency, Emergency" for one minute. This tells the subscriber that the system has been activated and allows the time to press "clear" button to cancel the emergency response.
With about one minute from activation, an emergency operator will announce themselves from the 2 way voice-enabled console and attempt to speak directly with the subscriber.
If the subscriber can respond, they simply need to tell the operator what is the problem and appropriate assistance (medical, friends, neighbors, fire, or police) is immediately summoned.
Best of all the Security Center operator will stay on the line with the subscriber until help arrives. This provides valuable reassurance that their call is being answered.
In the event the Security Center operators can not establish two way voice communications with the subscriber, they will immediately dispatch the closest paramedics.

The responding paramedics will be informed en-route of any important information (medical conditions, medications, allergies, location & combination of hide-a-keys, etc) to insure the best possible response.
After the paramedics are dispatched in response to the call for help, Security Center will then begin to contact the emergency call list which is established at the time your account is set-up including family members, neighbors, & friends.

1. Press the "Call-For Help" Button
Whenever you need help, one press of your lightweight, waterproof Personal Help Button activates a small in-home unit.
The LifeGuardian™ Medical Alarm System base console will respond by loudly and repeatedly announcing "Emergency!...Emergency!" for about 30 seconds.
This give the subscriber the comfort of knowing that help is on the way. It also allows time for the subscriber to cancel the alarm if is an accidental button push.
Next, LifeGuardian™ Medical Alarm System puts you in immediate two-way voice contact with a caring Security Center Personal Help Assistant who talks directly to you over the base console to find out what kind of help you need. They will respond based upon your needs...and they'll stay with you until help arrives.
Unlike many other medical alert systems, the LifeGuardian™ Medical Alarm System is prepared to handle all types of emergencies. This includes fires, smoke, gas leaks, medical emergencies and non-emergency aid requests.
2. A professional emergency dispatcher announces themselves on the console speakerphone...
Simply pressing your Personal Help Button puts you in immediate contact with a live, caring Security Center Emergency Operator. They can speak directly with you over the built-in hands-free two-way speakerphone to find out what kind of help or personal assistance you need.
They will loudly announce their emergency response and attempt to establish two-way voice communications with the subscriber.
3. You Tell Us What You Need....
Your Personal Help Assistant has all of your personal contacts - plus local emergency dispatch phone numbers - at their fingertips.
LifeGuardian™ Personal Emergency Medical Alert System subscribers establish a network of friends, neighbors and relatives -- folks who will come to your home to check on you.
Our emergency operators have the knowledge to call appropriate help -- whether it's a friend, family member, neighbor or an ambulance.
4. We immediately contact family, friends or neighbors you choose...

If the Personal Help Assistant needs to contact emergency personnel, they will convey important information to them so they will be "up to speed" when they arrive at your door.

Your Personal Help Assistant will inform loved-ones that your LifeGuardian Medical Alarm System has been activated and that emergency help has been dispatched to your location.
We can also pass along important information regarding your condition, who responded to your emergency, to what hospital or medical center you were transported to and many other details.
Your family will appreciate being immediately notified of any emergency.
8. We pass along critical information when your family needs it most!
